Today turned out beautiful for the 34th annual Knights of Columbus invitational track and bocce meet for Special Olympics Dartmouth, Special Olympics Halifax and Special Olympics Sackville-Bedford. A huge THANKS to the knights for organizing a great day and to all the volunteers for working hard all day.

We were joined by youth from ActiveStart and FUNdamentals programs for a Youth Fun Day!

Earlier this week the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame announced the 2026 inductee class. Congratulations to Julie Stanhope of Special Olympics Halifax on being the first female Special Olympics athlete to be inducted into the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame. Julie is a well decorated figure skater obtaining 4 gold medals at Special Olympics World Games and 5-time Special Olympics Canada National Champion.
